Install instructions
Windows Users: A Seamless Start
- Download and Extract: Head over to the official EclipseOS download page and grab the appropriate installer for your Windows system (both 64-bit and 32-bit versions are available). Once downloaded, locate the file and extract its contents using a decompression tool like WinRAR or 7-Zip.
- Launching EclipseOS: Navigate to the extracted folder and locate the file named "Eclipse-05". Double-click on this file, and EclipseOS should launch without any further steps required. Congratulations, you're now ready to explore!
MacOS Users: A Few Extra Clicks for Security
- Download and Installation: Download the EclipseOS installer for MacOS from the official website. The installation process on MacOS should be familiar; follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
- Bypassing Gatekeeper: When you attempt to launch EclipseOS for the first time by double-clicking the app (likely named "Eclipse05"), you'll likely encounter a security warning stating "Eclipse05 cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified." This is a common occurrence for apps downloaded outside the official App Store. Fear not, this is completely normal! Simply click "Cancel" on this initial warning.
- Granting Access: Here's where things differ slightly. To bypass Gatekeeper's security measures and launch EclipseOS, follow these steps:
- Hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and click on the "Eclipse05" app icon.
- From the contextual menu that appears, select "Open."
- Second Chance: You might encounter a second security warning after performing step 3. If an "Open" button is available, click on it to proceed.
- Persistence is Key: In some instances, the "Open" option might not be readily available in the second security warning. If this happens, simply click "Cancel" and repeat steps 3 and 4. The "Open" button should appear the second time you attempt to bypass Gatekeeper.
- Success! Once you've completed these steps, EclipseOS should launch without any further warnings. Feel free to drag the "Eclipse05" app into your Applications folder for convenient access in the future.
Linux Users: A Community-Driven Adventure
While we don't currently offer dedicated installation instructions for Linux users, the wonderful EclipseOS community is here to help! Head over to the EclipseOS forum or community chat room, and you'll find a wealth of information and assistance from fellow Linux enthusiasts who have successfully installed and run EclipseOS on their machines.
We encourage you to explore the community resources and contribute your own experiences once you've successfully launched EclipseOS on your Linux system. This will help build a vibrant and collaborative environment for all EclipseOS users.
Remember: These are general guidelines. The specific installation process might vary slightly depending on your operating system version and individual security settings. Don't hesitate to reach out to the EclipseOS community for further assistance if you encounter any difficulties.
